Phil is a very friendly and kind man who I can see is very passionate about his work and takes pride in his craft. My daughter bought a new 3/4 violin recently and as with some new violins, a few issues arose that needed adjustment. Phil was very patient with us parents who are not musicians to explain the issues and helped to put it right. We came to this place due to the high reputation and high rating even though we have to travel over half an hour by car to get there across harbour bridge, but the couple of extra trips made to fix issues were still worth the effort with the beautiful violin that my daughter enjoys playing with. My daughter’s viola was broken, and we came to Phil for help. He spent 15-20 minutes carefully repairing it on the spot. What truly surprised me was that at the end, he didn’t charge us anything for the repair! Phil is not only incredibly skilled and professional but also very friendly and generous. 12/09/25. It is unusual for me to give a five star review, but Phil is so good at what he does. A few weeks ago our daughter cracked her violin, and Phil fixed it in a couple of days to an extremely high standard. He is personable, gentle, kind, and knows what he is doing.
