New World Nelson City — Local services in Nelson

Be careful when you buy the bakery products, I bought a Banana Loaf and did not realise it had been frozen until I got home. It did have a sticker on it, but I did not notice it.

My problem is that it had a price sticker under the top sticker that had an old use by date on it. You are buying products they freeze when they near the end of there use by date - but when they thaw, they are only as fresh as when it is frozen. They then put a new sticker with new dates that makes you think you are buying a freshly baked product.

New World - I resent paying nearly $7 for bakery items that are not fresh.

As you have changed your staff, you have also changed your ways of working and you are not providing fresh products.

This review is the direct result of my customer service experience with Catherine. Not fully sure if that's how she spells it but that's how my mum spells her name. Anyway, I called up 30mins before closing to check if there was chefade in stoke and Catherine answered. It must be my lucky night to have had such a fantastic employee answer my call because she personally went to check the availability, then memorised and recited the different versions of the product, their prices and which was the best value for money. What has happened to New World Nelson? Two years ago I would have said it was the best supermarket in Nelson. These days it is at the bottom of my list. I used to really like going for the Deli food, and now I find that there are about 10 Deli staff standing around, no one prepared to serve customers while a long queue gathers. When finally attended to, the staff member manages to pick out some second rate product while the nicer version is left on show to attract more suckers.
