Looking for gift ideas. Here’s a ‘goody’. Make it a destination day. Was out looking for postcards today. It’s a lost art that needs a revival. And YES the Post Office still delivers postcards nationwide and around the world. Get to it. We found a couple of locations today for postcards and The White Room Gallery was one such. A surprising gift shop located in Island Bay. Surprising because it is stocked with a wide range of items including bespoke locally made clothing and to our surprise good NZ skin care for men and women. Plenty of other options inside, in fact squeezed in. What was really a standout was the ‘local knowledge’ factor. The owner and daughter gave us a bit of a history of the small local island, Taputeranga of Island Bay. For the upcoming festive season they have a room dedicated to Xmas themed gift ideas. (See photos). Imagination and very welcoming and interested. Small business’ like The White Room Gallery deserve a visit and a spend. Definitely a 5 Star. Across the road is an awesome local cafe (will review another time). And yes. We got our postcards of Island Bay. Cheers
