Double Vision Brewing - DUB HUB Island Bay — Restaurant in North Island

I’m glad it’s here and it has a better chance than previous occupants of this site—hope they make a go of it!. Beer good, but the food was unfortunately meh. Vege options a bit uninspiring. Chips are cooked in beef tallow (which in their favour they did point out when the order included a mushroom burger, and they subbed in curly fries). On that burger: $26 for a single mushroom and taste-free iceberg lettuce and watery tasteless tomato and a couple of slices of tinned beetroot makes for an uninspired, sloppy meal (and pretty poor value). Partner had a chicken burger that was “ok”. Staff were friendly though. All in all, wish them well but won’t rush back...

A new venture from Double Vision Brewing. They have renovated the place and changed it round a bit, so far so good. The bathrooms got a thumbs up.

There are lots of house taps and interesting beers to choose from and the drinks menu takes up quite a few pages, which bodes well.

We came for lunch on a Friday and tried a few of the staples from the staples menu. The staff were super welcoming and made it easy.

Everything was delicious and flavoursome. We all liked the popcorn chicken, loaded fries, and the grownups enjoyed the chicken and cranberry hot sandwich.
