Shorland Park is a popular playground with our kids and the recent upgrade has made it even better! Sporting new play equipment, a flying fox, and even a shaded play area for littler kids, there's plenty to keep the kids active and entertained. Lots of benches around, some picnic tables, BBQ and toilet facilities, water fountain and outdoor shower to clean yourself post-swim or beach play. Large grass lawn area great for picnics, kite-flying or kicking ball.

Grounds could have done with a bit more maintenance, however was in a Lovely location, with a great atmosphere. Nice spot for the kids, close to shop and a fish and chip shop, very friendly customer service there and decent food. 😊😊😊 Bonus the beach is also right there. Lovely place in general. 😊😊😊 Definitely a place I'd revisit. ❤️

Using this park on a golden Sun filled day is amazing. While you are sharing it with thousands of others celebrating is worthy of a memory to last you a life time. Well done to all involved as it was an enjoyable moment for our aiga and our nephews and niece had a great time. Island Bay festival is getting better!

Amazing day had by all at the Island Bay fair. The park has everything for family and friends. Playing areas for young and old. The history behind the stage is very significant in New Zealand and Australian war days of old and a lot of children were the results of the R & R (rest and recovery and recouped time) for the world's war heroes.

You have to be very brave and strong wiled to put your life on the line for King and country and society today struggles with the reality.

Remember that your mom is MOTHER EARTH and listen to the songs of the past and the music of the soul. Putting yourself in their lives and in mind and body and soul when making decisions for the future ❤️💙 😊 and love will...

This park has four gas hot plate barbecues that are free to use with picnic style table & seating nearby. Bring your own clean bbq up equipment. One area is particularly suited to large groups of up to 30 people. The long aluminum slide is very popular with children (and adults). Swings & play equipment in the main playground are suitable for a wide age range, though a fenced preschoolers park (with nearby toilet) is where the toddlers can play on play equipment suited to them only without interference from...
