A new shop is on the block in Prebbleton & while it's not vast like some places I've been in it's got all the cook requires to please the rest of the family 😋. Plus if you enjoy aged meat this is the place to come to as you can not only purchase a small amount but also buy a entire joint 🍖 & the staff will put your name on it & you can rest assured that your cut will be available whenever you wish to get it. If you're interested get in asap & check it out. For those who like bread well theres lots of loaves sitting waiting to go home with you & if you have a sweet tongue check out the lollies isle, mmm. Another thing is the small plastic trolleys made from 74 milk bottles🥛🍼 they are light & easy to push. Just inside the entrance/exit is a small counter where I guess you can get a coffee, as I don't drink the stuff I dont really take a lot of notice but its clean & tidy. One of the most important parts of any supermarket are the staff & these people are pretty dam good & seem to know where everything is plus they have a smile on their faces - always good. All up I think Prebbleton has done all right & the prices look fairly good as well. Overall it's well worth going in for a shop, see...
Read moreyet again disappointed when unable to find a basic item. This is a great supermarket for partial shopping, but if you don't just eat 3 veg and meat every night, it is lacking. This week for instance, planned on 2 seafood dinners, did they have any mixed seafood bags? no. Prawns then, no. Squid, no. loads of crumbed and battered, some tiny shrimps, but thats about it. New owners shuffle round has reduced expectations. About a month ago also no where to be seen, Fish Fingers. What supermarket does not have fish fingers? With Selwyn council hemming us in with all their road works its not exactly a convenient pop to Halswell New World either. On the flip side, meat very good, salt aging room, amazing steaks. EDIT Sept 2024: my last statement above is now defunct. They've removed the meat counter now making the stand out feature of this supermarket a reason to no longer visit unless absolutely necessary, but it certainly won't be for a special cut of beef on a Saturday night. New owner has made many changes in the past year, none, IMO, that have...
Read moreConvenient, clean, usually well stocked although limited options as a small supermarket. Very good meat, veges and fruit ok, good friendly service, prices (excepting Specials) a bit dearer than other supermarkets September 2024 amended review...things have certainly gone downhill under change of ownership big aisle shift around, too much junk food, often tired scabby veges, now the deli and meat service has closed with all plastic vacuum packed goods instead and now the cafe has been boarded up. What's to go next! Well I won't be buying very much from them now as prices are dearer than ever, except for the odd special. Such a shame really, I guess it's a sign...
