The Good Home Prebbleton — Local services in South Island

Came to this fine establishment for dinner to try the pizza and wings. After about a 45 minute wait the pizza was decent but the wings were far from that. The wings came with what was described as Chipotle BBQ sauce which I thought was an odd way to say "Gregg's Classic BBQ sauce". To add to that, a bit of salt and pepper would have gone a long way on the wings, as would some serviettes which sadly wouldn't have even been the most unseasoned thing on the table. We ordered fries (which were steak cut but that's neither here nor there), it was accompanied by what could only be described as a tomato sauce/chutney-like condiment which left a lot to be desired and the absence of aioli (or a secondary dipping sauce) much more noticeable. We came here for a family dinner function and had a great time overall. The food was tasty with generous portions—highlights were the pork belly (delicious and hearty, though the plate it was served on tipped a bit while cutting), the pork roast (also very tasty, though slightly heavy on the gravy), and the medium rare steak (good portion, decent quality).

The staff were absolutely lovely—friendly, attentive, and provided great service throughout the night.

The only downside was the volume. Between the music, a live rugby game, and the buzzing crowd, it got a bit overwhelming at times. A slightly quieter background vibe would’ve made the atmosphere more comfortable.

After finding out the Good Home in Wigram had changed their pizza recipe, I was delighted to discover that there is now a Good Home in Prebbleton! Unfortunately it seems to be a franchise change. The pizzas are still tasty but don't hold a candle to what they once were. My friends and I ordered a side of "Chipotle BBQ" wings which was an utter disappointment. The wings were not Chipotle BBQ... just un seasoned chicken wings with BBQ sauce squirted on top, they were also terribly dry. Do not ever order wings. Waitress got my drink order horribly wrong and was quite rude, they also didn't give any serviettes even though we ordered 3 pizzas?? Would only go back again for beers. tldr wings are a joke,...
