$5 chips was a normal scope of chips from elsewhere, I know inflation etc since 6 weeks ago but very disappointed for price, definitely will just make own in future. In saying that, their burgers etc are still very yum!

Have since gone again, chips were SUPER crispy and amazing! Got them with Garlic Butter mmm.. Burger was good too! Honestly no issues this time round, both my partner & I were very happy upped from 3 star to 4. Third time will be the charm in a month or 2!

Charged a lil extra than it was meant to come to (was only 20 cents so whatever really) paid for chicken salt (30c) on chips and got confirmation it was chicken salt when I grabbed it but was only plain salt. Chips okay, little undercooked though, chicken bites also were chewy and a little under. And the plain salt (wasnt chicken salt like was meant to be) had wayyy too much and was super extremely salted.

We too have supported Maori Hill Takeaways for over 25+ years - they were the best but unfortunately the new owners have let themselves down. Our fav, beef and ginger now just tastes of high salt and floating in tasteless gravy, chicken and cashew nuts had no flavour whatsoever - only saving grace was the cashews and the pork chow mein was another story completely - it was a soup!!! Isn't chow mein meant to be yummy fried noodles with some meat and veges not swimming/drowned literally in a thick gluey brown tasteless gravy - never ever seen anything like it and had no flavour whatsoever. We had Fish and Chips from here last night. It ws fabulous! And so much cheaper than we're used to paying. $16 for two scoops of chips, two fish and a cheeseburger (easily fed two adults and two pre-schoolers). The chips were great - crunchy and firm. The fish was fine and the cheeseburger wasn't gourmet but it still had lettuce and relish - and it only cost $4.80! Definitely check it out for great chips and a cheap feed! I also saw an article that the shop has new owners since November 2019 - they seem to be knocking it out...
