Petropavlovskaya Krepost' — Local services in округ Кронверкское

A complete disappointment! I’ve recently revisited this full of history place that gives a glimpse into Russian Empire and was rather shocked by the way it is now managed.

You can enter this place for free, but need to take the tickets to visit various museums inside. The propose you a pass that gives an access to everything, and here is the whole issue. The pass gives you an access only to the public places. What they “forget” to mention you is that they are now subletting part of the Krepost to private entrepreneurs. So if you wish to go on top to enjoy the view you have to pay. You even have to pay on top if you wish to walk around the fortress via the beach, as the part of this beach is now private. This really felt like a sort of trap.

As for the public museums, the main cathedral with the remains of most of Russian tsars is magnificent, but you can appreciate it at all because the number of people entering it is not limited. At a certain point there was no place to teen around inside it. In this condition you can’t possibly see anything.
