Did you read Crime and Punishment? If yes, you may remember Sennoy Market (the Hay Market). A place where Raskolnikov confessed his sins. The market is one of the oldest and cheapest in St. Petersburg and offers fresh produce, fish, meat and much more. . 💰Cheap, I mean: 🥑4-5 avocado – 100 rub\1,4 euro 🌶️1 kg peppers – 80 rub\1.1 euro 🍓1 kg strawberries – 200 rub\2.8 euro . ⚠️Attention! If you go there not just for taking fancy photos, then: 👉Take cash (with change for 100\500\1000 rub) 👉 Take care of your bag, money, and camera 👉 always watch what they put into the bag. There is kind of trick they make. The facade of the tent always look amazing: they put the best looking berries in front, but when you ask for a kilo of strawberries, they never give you these best-looking ones, but smaller, greener, older. 👉find your seller. The one where you will buy something daily so they will give you high-quality products for a good price. This market is Good for buying Groceries,Halal Meat, fresh Vegetables and Fruits in a reasonable price but keep your eyes open and your senses awake. Because they have lucrative items on front to attract Customers and when you agreed for price they don't let you touch and choose the best items rather they pick substandard items for you just behind the showcase. But if you are good enough to bargain then it will help you out. Dawood is a nice and helpful person I met at Meat Shop. Their is a tailor shop near by and the lady is very kind and skilled and charge reasonable price. Their are some thrift stores as well. Overall good place to buy fresh items in...

I come here from time to time to get some food if I can’t get it at a local convenience store. To say that customer service is at its lowest is to say nothing! The local farm produce sellers let themselves be dishonest, rude and obnoxious. Its getting better but very slowly. Hygienically its not the cleanest market, either. Not to mention face masks with current COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, they are nonexistent!! Not a...
