Spent 2 days with the team at Nature’s way and had such a great time! Teo and Alan were so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and had a wonderful respect for nature.
The rafting was magnificent, we were lucky to have a sunny day and the water was so clear and blue, photos don’t do it justice! The water is very cold at only 8deg but with the wetsuits you don’t feel it to much and we even jumped in to have a swim a few times - very refreshing!
Rafting on this river is not to be missed and this company is great value for money!
The next day we went on the canyoning trip with Teo and we were lucky to to have him to ourselves. Apparently they take a maximum group size of 8 but because the season is just getting started it was just the 2 of us, which meant we didn’t have to wait long between jumps. The whole trip took about 3hours including a 30hike up to the top of the valley. Stunning scenery and once again beautiful clear water. Not sure how many waterfalls we went down but there was a great mix of free jumps, slides and a couple of abseils. The highlight was the 55m drop down a waterfall where you are lowered down directly under the waterfall.
If you are considering this trip just be aware that it takes a reasonable level of fitness as the cold water can sap your energy. I had very cold hands by the end of the trip but the rest of my body was warm due to the good quality wetsuits. We wore neoprene socks, boots and a 5mm wetsuit.
That afternoon we were quite tired but relaxed after such an exciting 2 days in the water. An amazing experience and I highly recommend Nature’s way as a tour...

Read moreIn comparison with rafting excursions elsewhere in the world I found Nature's Ways one rather average. It's a mass tourism service where a group of 30 is packed into vans, taken to a storage place for equipment (still wet and smelly after previous uses), then driven 15mins further for boarding to 5 rafts. Many other companies do the same section of Soca and the spot where you put the neoprene on fills up with other groups of rafters and kayakers.
It's all facilitated by friendly, seasonal contractors, which do a good job keeping people entertained and safe, although while bringing in fresh vibes, naturally lacking a local connection with the place, which is truly beautiful and interesting - Soca offers no thrills but the scenery and water are great. The section we did - just after Zaga to Kamp Trnovo - took about an hour, with a couple of stops for sliding and jumping. Keep in mind as the climate changes year by year the river seems to get less and less water, which makes rafting more technical on one hand... Kayaking / canoeing could be a better option.
Value for money is ok but I'd explore offers from other operators for...
