We had a dreadful experience at Irene Cafe yesterday as a family of 4. We came from Menlyn to visit the new centre for the very first time. Refreshments were the first order of the day. The waitress was terribly inexperienced, the breakfast menu IS NOT served all day (not stated anywhere on menu and menu too expensive for a re print apparently - “R100 000” according to rude management), kitchen too small to serve breakfast and lunch all day, they can’t fit in or can’t afford another griller (also told a griller costs “R100 000” by rude management). On entry we asked if we could have wine with our meal, but Irene Cafe do not have their licences yet, then asked if we could pay corkage, but was told by rude manager that it is not preferred… BUT it was then offered to us in a “teapot”? Extremely bad service, thereafter, and we all felt harassed by the manager who kept coming to the table to argue her point, over and over. We thought it better to leave as the drinks were brought to the table and the manager yelled at waitress to put it into takeaway cups for us and not to bill us. Horrible!!! Horrible situation. We think someone with restaurant experience will be an asset to this cafe. To the manager in the red dress, here is the review I promised. I look forward to your response. Definitely not an experience that will make us come back to the Irene...
Read moreIt's a small and horizontal shopping complex. Most familiar favorites like Checkers, PnP Clothing, Westpack, Woolworths Edit with the addition of a few speciality shops also. Ample open paid parking available, not a lot of shade. Wheelchair friendly and easy accessible. The walkways are wide and note that the store names are at the top of the building. Many coffee shops are available and other fast food chains. Meat merchants will open soon. Central located and next to a main road and within minutes on the highway and also close to schools and SARS offices. There are different entrances to the mall available. Highly recommend visiting them to add a new look and feel to your...
Read moreHi all, I was at Irene Link between 12 and 1 today with my mum.
We went to 3 stores and got a few things. Before leaving, we went to PnP Clothing, and mum looked for underwear. There were 2 ladies and a male who targeted us.
The ladies were very close to my mum while my mum looked for an underwear item, the ladies claimed they were also looking.
I walked around and before going back to my mum to leave the store the male held up a jersey in front of my face to distract me as the one lady took my mums cellphone out of her bag.
We only realized this after leaving the store and getting into the car.
Please be extra...
