(one visit only review). I drove all the way from JHB to try their hot pizza challenge. This challenge is what keeps them from a perfect 5 star, albeit that I am still very impressed. The pizza challenge comes with more than enough warnings from the manager, the waitress and the cook, they all warned me. My unhappiness with the challenge is the price, this pizza is R217+-, as opposed to the other pizzas at nearly half of that. I can imagine that the chillies being used are hard to source, but since I grow them myself I know they don't justify the price as these chilli trees are far cheaper to keep and produce more per 'Rand' than Avocado, which generally costs more. The time limit is also insane, but again one waiter said 15 minutes and one said 17 minutes, why the inconsistency? Then the wall of fame has people that ate an "entire" large pizza in 4 and 5 minutes(multiple people apparently). This sounds faked and suspicious, as famous competitive eaters on YouTube barely match that time, go see for yourself. This leads me to believe that the time limits, etc might be incredibly different from time to time, a poor show for food challenges, and very frowned upon in the food challenge industry. Also, other than the manager (Thank you), the waiters and the menu are not willing to reveal which chillis and sauces are used, and this would be a mean and unfair cash grab for those who have never gone above the heat of a habanero or so. Now, the good bit, the pizza is absolutely brutal, and I had enough of restaurants and fast food franchises lying to us about "extra hot" and "not for the faint hearted", and then the meals are about as hot as a medium commercial hot sauce, so from me to Delizioso, well done for being honest and actually delivering on the promise. Your pizza defeated me, leaving my face feeling like it had been bitten by a nest of snakes, that being said I had takeaways for home which I consume carefully and bits at a time. My partner's "Death By cheese" pizza was very tasty, and she was happy with the milkshake. The normal pizzas are very reasonably priced, but steaks and pastas are above average especially considering the location being in a rather moderate shopping centre. The facilities are clean and I enjoy the decor. Service was great from the waitress, just shy of perfect. Will be back, but think they should be more transparent with the hot pizzas ingredients, lest they acknowledge using it as a cash grab from...

My wife and I started off with a fishbowl, it was great. It's refreshing with the taste of Malibu dominating the flavours. I like Malibu so I loved this. The sweetness later on helped me break the meat sweats I got from my awesome pizza.

I had the Godfather pizza. The name and ingredients are identical to Pizza Perfect's Godfather (except Russian as an ingredient). This however, is far higher quality! The rump tasted like it was braaied ♡, it had loads of cheese and it was jam-packed with toppings. I would recommend this for the meat lovers any day!

My wife had Heine's Jalapeño pizza. This too was such a mouth watering pizza, she loved it. I ate half of it too and I'm sold. The caramelized onions are to die for, the avo added some freshness and the jalapeños packed a nice punch. The only constructive criticism I can give is it was very garlic-heavy.

The pizza bases aren't the usual pizza base taste or texture, it was almost more bready if that makes sense. It was interesting but I enjoyed them both thoroughly.

Well done to Riaan and his team. I look forward to my next visit there. There's so much I want to try on the menu including the HotAsHell pizza (which you need to sign a...

I had the pleasure of dining at Delizioso a few nights ago, and overall, it was a great experience. The ambiance was inviting, and the service was top-notch. The dishes we ordered, along with the wine selection, were excellent, and the pricing felt reasonable and proportionate to the quality.

I did try the Chicken Bourekia, and while it was good, I was a bit disappointed in the quality of feta used within. The Lemon Yogurt sauce, tasted a bit watered down and not creamy as I had expected. That being said, the menu offers plenty of other tempting options, so we’ll definitely be back to try more of their offerings.

To address a point raised by a previous reviewer who seemed disappointed that the restaurant didn’t share its ingredient list: As a successful restaurant owner myself, I found that criticism to be a bit unfair. Protecting a restaurant’s recipes and intellectual property is completely reasonable. No restaurant is required to disclose its ingredients except when it comes to allergens, and in my opinion, the location of the restaurant doesn’t justify baseless price criticisms either. Kudos to the staff for upholding their...

Nice enough setting. Menu enough to give anyone a choice. We were quite keen to come try this restaurant. Ordered a mussel pot. Came nicely in a little black potjie. Taste was good and enough mussels. For mains we ordered the espatada and a pork belly. We had choice of chips, veg, which was pumpkin and cream spinach. Pork belly was good and so were the veg which we both ordered. My espatada was a bit tough. Immidiatly the manager came and asked how the food was. I told him about my meat, which I only had two pieces from. Again he was fast to apologise as they still finding their feet after taking this restaurant over. He offered to bring the menu so I could choose something else. I declined. It was not 15 minutes later and the manager brought me an oxtail pizza and a bottle of champagne. This was not expected and not asked for. THIS type of commitment is applaudable and shows confidence in what it will become. I WILL come again.
