I don’t understand why you would let a group of taxi hooligans to dictate customer experience of your mall. I’ve been through multiple times have had the convenience of using any transport service I like taken away from me (including today) and your management team never seems to do anything about it. It’s like you guys know exactly what’s happening but you simply do not care and you know what I think it’s quite sad that you take advantage of fact that people won’t stop coming to the mall.

If I prefer to use Uber/Bolt and your company policy doesn’t support them or something like that to the point that you’re happy with putting people’s lives in danger, kindly communicate this and clearly put out your stance. If you’re happy with people keep getting attacked within your premises because maybe you still want to keep your taxi driver friends happy THEN PLEASE put it out there for all to see. Be fair and tell us you have no intention to intervene for whatever reasons so we know that we should use other malls and not yours because clearly your intentions to keep your taxi driver friends happy is more...

Apparently uber and bolt is not allowed, on Saturday we bought groceries and we were told by a security guard wearing a yellow reflector that we are not supposed to request an uber next to sports bet, we are supposed to go to the taxi rank to request there, only to find out that taxi association private cars are on the guard. my question is are we forced to go to taxis even if we do not want to, is Maponya mall owned by the taxi association, if so I believe as management you should inform customers so that in future we should consider shopping else where because what is happening at Maponya is not fair to customers, I feel like as customers we are being controlled and we don't have rights at all. I am upset because me and my sister had a lot of things that we bought and we couldn't afford to take a taxi with such a lot of plastics carrying groceries and appliances. Your response will be highly...

Maponya mall! I couldn't believe that such a place exists. I saw more cugels and bagels and custard tarts here than all the places on earth combined. The best thing is the absence of frot cinnamon odours and Australian tea tree candles. The dummies in the window displays are so authentic in nature, that I almost died when I saw one of them undressing. If you come here to buy 1 sock or a couple of socks or even some mild mustard you will have an enchanting experience. I forgot where I parked and the security calmed me up and told me to just wait until everyone is gone. I went on a tasting spree until there was nothing left except for a cleaner. The trick worked, I saw my car almost straight away. Boy, I'm still smiling.y

Maponya mall is one of the pride of Soweto. Management need to really up their game in dealing with a vast criminal network that allways attack the mall. It is so bad that the elderly women have been their victims in a large scale. This is what will keep people away from this mall if it is not sorted out quickly. Another bad thing about Maponya mall, their drainage system in the parking lot is extremely poor. Once it can rain, the whole area quickly turns into a dam. They really need to sort out that one too.

We ran a few errands and ended up staying for lunch. It’s busy in a familiar, local way—families shopping, teens comparing sneakers, music from a store spilling into the walkway. We liked that the layout makes sense and you don’t lose time hunting for basics. From a café table we people-watched, planned the rest of the afternoon, and voted on dessert we didn’t need. It works as a reset between sightseeing stops, and you leave feeling part of the neighbourhood rhythm.
