The Galleria — Local services in Suwon-si

Only department store in Gwanggyo. Opened in the march of 2020. Bad time to open a major deparment store. They have a CGV with an IMAX cinema, and the Hanwha Aqua Planet Gwanggyo. They used to have galleria suwon in Yeongtong area, but they shut it down on the day they opened this one. The Galleria Suwon was having a hard time since 2015, when Lotte opened their first department store in Suwon and AK Plaza Suwon's expension. Hanhwa expected this store to recover it's revenue, since Gwanggyo is the richest area in Suwon. But 2020's revenue was pretty disappointing. Hanwha thinks the reason is all because of COVID-19 situation. But, if you visit here, you'll notice that they have a lot of problems. The place is really weirdly organized, like the Samsung electronic shop is on the 6th floor, where they have baby clothes. And they have their food court on the 9th floor, which is traditionally a floor for authentic restaurants. And they have a Kiehl's in front of their main enterance. Great department store with plenty of scenic highlights. There's a rooftop garden, elevated clear glass floors, large circular windows to gaze out into the horizon, and plenty of excellent eateries to boot. I'd like to highlight hit restaurant Cuchara Mexican cuisine and Downtowner's amazing burgers on the 9th floor. They are some of the very best foreign food franchises from gangnam and itaewon. As a tourist in Korea, I believe this mall had the best selection in terms of luxury brands that are globally known. The food court on level B1 had an amazing array of vendors and the whole establishment was clean and up to date with Covid protocols. I personally visited the Off-White and Balenciaga stores, where the staff were able to assist me even with the language barrier. Definitely worth checking out while...
