Cala Mendia

Amazing sandy cove beach with clear turquoise water. Long and shallow entry (therefore perfect for kids so popular with families, with resulting ps and downs). Spacious parking (nothing fancy, rough surface with potholes, but unless you drive a Ferrari I don't see why it should be an issue). Even a toilet present, which is a rare finding on local beaches. But it's only 1 cabin and open 10-16. Not very popular though, people apparently prefer to swim in a swamp of their pee, so the toilet is quite clean). Sunbeds + umbrella = 15 Eur. Expectable overpriced bar and restaurant at the beach, but there are nice food options 7-10 mins walking, and a mini "Spar" shop. There was a small amount of seaweed at the shore, but doesn't bother at all. Some sea life to watch when snorkeling, particularly on the left side along the rocks.

Has to be broken down to 2 separate reviews: Before noon - great, 5 stars. We arrived at noon and it was still nice. Afternoon - overcrowded, lots of plastic trash in the water. Some visitors were collecting plastic from the water. Huge respect, didn't struck my mind to do so until I was them when...

Ruhig ist anderst. Nervig dass die Anzahl der Yachten nicht kontrolliert wird die hier ankern UND DASS DIE INSEL VOLLER DRECK IST! Einheimische und Hotels entsorgen ihren Müll einfach auf Plätzen weil Müllentsorgung zu teuer ist anscheinend! Kümmert euch mal darum ihr Gemeindeabgeordnete. Lasst die Hotels doch mal nachweisen, wo jedes Gerät und Bauschutt entsorgt wurde. Würde keiner mehr renovieren!!! Eine Schweinerei was man beobachtet und dann hört wie die Insel es auf die Touristen schiebt. Die produzieren weder Bauschutt noch hatten diese einen Kühlschrank im Gepäck. Und schämt euch bei den Preisen für Getränke mal nicht an falscher Stelle: Pfand auf Flaschen und Dosen wäre schonmal der größte Müllproduzent beseitigt. Flaschensammler gäbe es hier zu genüge. Dann dass es keine Ordnung gibt wie man auf der Straße sich zu kleiden hat. Etwas mehr Etikette würde der schönsten Insel...
