On December 22, 2024, I went on a snowmobile tour and was very excited! After being kitted out with the necessary winter clothing and a clear technical briefing on the vehicle, we set off. We were only a very small group, which made the whole experience very enjoyable because the guide was able to respond well to our needs. The tour went at a leisurely pace over hills and smaller mountains to beautiful viewpoints nearby. Which was just about all we could manage due to the pace and the already quite dusky time of day (the tour started at 2 pm).

This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Luckily, the weather was very much in our favor, allowing us to see the breathtaking view of the Lapland. Our guide, Alex, was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He taught us a range of topics from the tools used to ice fish to other Abisko treasures to legendary myths. We were provided appropriate apparels to wear and immediately set out to a lake 20 minutes away. Alex guided us every step of the way and we managed to catch a fish alas, which was very delicious. Had a blast going on a snowmobile ride with our guide Alex. We stopped at a few very pretty places where we took pictures and had a small fika with a scenic view. It was a lot of fun!

We also did the artic fishing on the lake. Unfortunately no fish for us, but it was still a very nice experience. Alex told us stories and gave us some warm tea as we were waiting for fishes to bite the bait. Highly recommend! And thanks a lot to Alex for these...
