Mariefred Museijärnväg station — Local services in Strängnäs kommun

I liked the very old steam engines even now live virtually and serve to public as a picnic train to tourists and for children's toy train in live... I appreciate the senior citizens serve as train drivers, fireman, station guard and line changing brakeman. Unity of senior citizens spend their time in a useful way. I think that very good line maintenance for about some 2kms in the area and a sight seeing toy train.. Tks to all.. I m also a senior citizen from CHENNAI....

It's a nice (but very short) ride on the toy train from Mariefred to Läggesta Nedre. Everything from the ticketing counter, to the staff, to the train (and the sound the train makes on the tracks) feels super authentic. When I went, there was a 30 minute waiting time at Läggesta Nedre before the return train to Mariefred.. Unfortunately, there is literally nothing to do during the wait.. not even a café for example, which I found would have made the experience...

The train station itself is very quaint and not at all spoilt by time. The train journey is fun for kids though not fun if the weather is hot. The seats are very uncomfortable.
