We spent a couple of days in Mariefred and were delighted that we found Rakstugan for dinner on the second night. The venue is small and charming but also well-lit and modern while never feeling cramped at all.
The expectation is that each person will order a couple of smaller dishes (Tapas style) and each dish comes out at around 120 SEK. We took 2 main dishes of food each and a side of fried potatoes and it was perfect for a good sized dinner. There were a couple of vegetarian dishes on top of the starters which meant even as a vegetarian you could have the tapas-like-experience.
Other than that, the service was friendly and polite, there was a good selection of beer to enjoy and we overall just had a great time...

My wife had the beef dish and roast beef dish. Prices are about $10-$13 per dish, so overall fairly reasonable if you just do 2 dishes. All of our dishes were excellent.
