Café Blå Katten — Restaurant in Strängnäs kommun

My kids would give 5 stars, we, the parents give 3 stars. So we meet at 4. We ordered the breakfast for around 100 krones, and several portions of pankakes for the kids. I also ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. The pankakes were ok, the kids liked them. They are not hand made, which is somewhat acceptable for the price. The oat milk cappuccino was excellent, as was the yogurt. The sandwich with cheese and ham was ok, the bread was very good compared what you sometimes get in other locations. I found it a bit dissappointing that the boiled eggs were just taken from the fridge instead of freshly boiled. The location is pretty, the toilets are not too clean though, but acceptable. The service is amazing, prices are normal and the place looks wonderful. Someone might say that you don't have the lake view but I will gladly skip that so I can get the service they offer and the consistency of the interior which are both quite rare to find. In general there are many good snack and dessert options as well as vegan options too. On the downside I would prefer a little bit different recipes on their meal dishes as well as sides on those dishes. That's why I give 4 and not 5 stars. This is the best café in the area...

In a town with not too many stand-out vegan options, this is an okay place for a coffee or sandwich stop. The café is very cute and right in the centre just a short walk from the castle.
