It is a small shrine which worships God of Literacy, and it was rebuilt in 1990 and completed in 2003, although the temple was originally built in 1850 of the Ching Dynasty.
The temple is located in small alley, although it is suitable for the tourists who visit nearby BaoAn Temple or Confucius Temple. The walking distance is within 10 minutes. The Temple is not known to the tourists, either domestic or foreign, and, thus, it shows some sort of tranquility when it does not have visitors in weekdays.
Because it worships God of Literacy, it is the temple where students who willl take extrance examination or candidates who will take license exam or bureaucrat tests to pray for the good luck for the examination. Most people would copy their test admission tickets and place them in the temple worship hall. Some others would write praying cards and hang them in the worship hall.
Praying cards are probably provided free to all visitors and students by the temple.
The temple is free for entrances and there is bathroom for public use.
