I have stayed different hostels in Taiwan. And here is the worst place I have stayed so far... Bathrooms ALMOST always flood. Besides, they do not provide shampoo and shower gel. You need to buy packs from the front desk. It is not the real environmental protection at all!
For the service, there is the one male staff (or a male receptionist) whose attitude is terrible. But generally speaking, they are lukewarm and indifferent. (Maybe is it because I stay longer instead of short days? Lol)
There is no trash can in backpackers' rooms as well as in the common areas on the second and the third floor. If you eat some food, you have to go to the toilet or the first floor to throw away.
The only good thing to talk about is the bunk is comfortable. However, there is no curtain beside the bunk. If you care about privacy, you need to think twice before booking.
If you are couples and choose suites, it is much better. The suite is well-equipped like hotels. But it is not BNB, so neither free breakfast nor coupons are provided.
By the way, the another advice for females, you had better stay here after the "monthly period" because they are not allowed to change bed sheets for free if you unfortunately make the sheet dirty, stained or spotted. You have to pay $200 N.T if you need...

Worst stay in Taiwan. Because Expensive for a shared room. (TWD 900) Every things are about cash. Need towel (TWD100), we will charge you. Need shampoo (TWD 90), we will charge you. Need slipper (TWD 30), again we will charge you. Basically all is about cash. Overstay checkout time (TWD 200 per hour, TWD 500), you guessed right, cash again. Worst customer service, the greetings I got was, "Hi, this is your room keys and ut cost TWD 500 if you lost it!!!" WOW, you are so friendly. And the first thing they go through with you is all the penalties. OH, the TWD 900 you paid doesn't include cleaning fees. IF YOU DIRTY the room, another TWD 200 will be charged. No toothpaste, no toothbrush, no shaver, limited bathroom space.
Me and my wife went for 10 days vacation, 9 night stay. I can get a stay for TWD 800 with everything and better service. The hotel is even cheaper...
Read moreWe stayed in April 2025. This is for budget-seeking travellers. It is not near the desireable spots for tourists, but it is in a quiet neighborhood.
The rooms are dusty and musky due to poor ventilation.
A cleaner goes around doing only what is necessary like mopping main areas and cleaning the toilet/showers.
No staff after 8pm, so when the fire alarm tripped at around 10pm, it took a while for matters to resolve because a staff had to come and coordinate pn jer phone with someone in order to fix the tripped alarm. Guests all evacuated but no protocol for clearance to return, so we just returned on our own volition.
Note that this is a budget stay, so it was a popular choice for party-goers on weekends. A drunk guest staying on the top bunk accidentally toppled his soda and candy wrappers and it landed on me and my bed. No staff was insight so I was not able to request for...
