A peaceful and beautiful place to visit. The architecture is elegant, with a large Buddha statue that creates a calm and spiritual atmosphere. Beautiful temple complex, where this Main Shrine is one of the 3 focal points. We were lucky to get to see this at the time, due to the recent passing of Master Hsing Yun; the founder of Fo Guang Shan. This facility is a fabulous landmark and one can spend half of the day exploring the grounds. The landscaping is meticulously maintained and today the flowers were in bloom. Fo Guang Shan’s Main Shrine features a massive 36m (~120ft) tall Buddha surrounded by four towers on a great hall, which is flanked by eight numbered pagodas along a massive walkway

The main shrine interior includes auditorium and access to outdoor balcony. Highly recommend a visit for both non-Buddhists and Buddhist practitioners alike as the area is very serene and peaceful.

This facility is a fabulous landmark and one can spend half of the day exploring the grounds. The landscaping is meticulously maintained and today the flowers were in bloom. A must visit location located in Kaohsiung.
