Precision Air's terrible reputation is very well earned. They apparently schedule flights with the intention of cancelling them, and they lie about known delays and overbooking, attributing it to mechanical issues. Other reviews on Tripadvisor made these same observations, and I got the pleasure of living the same experience. About 20 folks and I arrived at the airport at 08:00 for a 10:40 flight. The flight was delayed 2 hours, and then another hour, and then finally announced as cancelled 7 HOURS LATER, while we waited in the small airport trying desperately to get scraps of information on what was happening. The crew are all tight-lipped (maybe because they weren't 100% aligned on which story to tell?) and impossible to get honest, straightforward information from. They assured us that we had guaranteed seats on a flight departing at 03:00 the next morning. When we requested written confirmation of these promised seats, they assured us the tickets would be provided at the hotel they were taking us to. They also told us they would provide a statement of the cancellation for our insurance purposes. After bussing us to a hotel for a few hours, we all woke up and we're bussed back to the airport at 00:00 for our 03:00 flight, now with Kenya Air. At the counter, the crew told us the 03:00 flight was cancelled, and besides, our tickets didn't exist anyway. The Precision Air crew had lied directly to our faces and were completely unconcerned about us as clients, or ethics and integrity in general. After another 5 HOURS waiting and fighting at the counter, we managed to get seats on a 10:10 departure, and got to wait an additional 4 hours until finally escaping. I was lucky I had built in a couple of rest days and was only losing the hotel I had booked and hours of my life (still precious), but my new trauma-bonded friends were missing time with relatives they were supposed to be visiting or time on safaris they had booked.
After this painful lesson learned, I cancelled the other flight I had scheduled with Precision Air to return to Tanzania and rescheduled with SafariLink, because I can't take a chance on another 24 hours in an airport with an airline that doesn't care...
Read moreI recently had an extremely frustrating experience with Precision Airlines. My flight was delayed multiple times, and then, unexpectedly, the departure airport was changed from Arusha to Kilimanjaro.
The staff at the counter seemed completely uninformed about the situation, leaving us waiting for nearly two hours with no clear answers. Eventually, I was informed that my connecting flight from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam was fully booked and that they were rescheduling me on a later flight at 9:00 PM instead of the original 5:00 PM.
This meant we had to wait at the airport for almost five hours, which was particularly challenging with my pregnant wife.
I feel compelled to share this experience with family, friends, and colleagues to help them avoid the same frustrating situation. It’s clear that the management is running this airline more like a bus service than a...
Read moreWorst airline we have ever used.
Change of airport 3 days before take off, at least we got informed. But no compensation for the extra time and money we had to use to get there. Check-in was super slow, our flight was not shown on ANY screen at the airport. Everybody was confused and nervous. Very little to no information about anything. On the end our flight got delayed at beginning 2, then 3 and on the end 5 hours. At least we got a handwritten coupon for a meal and drink while waiting, but that is the least you can expect.
All of this for a short flight of an hour, absolutely catastrophic. Please do not book this airline, the cheaper price is absolutely not worth the extra stress you WILL have...
