We came to the market to try to get some food , unfortunately it was terrible, I hope I won't get stomach problems tomorrow. Meat is bad, nothing even heated enough, EVEN CORN IS BAD! How can you screw it? "KFC bbq" is laying fried and cold, they use margarine instead of butter for everything, all portions are small, even kebab. Ice cream with sweetener. The only thing you could in theory take if forced, is potato chips, a lot of oil and salt, but inline with your expectations.
Probably, the main reason is the huge amount of crowd, people come and go and just ignore it, then the next people come.

There is no uniqueness or identy of the community in both cloth and food sections. Most of souvenirs might have been bought from wholesalers outside the island. There is no handicrafts made by locals to be seen.
Food section offer mainly Kebab, icecream and Roti.
The busy Roti shop on the right hand side can't even make a proper Banana Roti. It is undercooked. Flat and not Crispy at all.
Luckily Lanta island has many good restaurants with fresh seafood and authentic flavour.

I understand people complaining about the prices - it’s not that they are expensive, but more that the restaurants are the same price. So you can eat at a market stall or lovely beachfront restaurant with twinkling lights and you pay the same.
I think it’s still worth it for an evening for something different. Maybe avoid when it’s raining though as it’s chaos and nowhere to sit and every man...
