Pangpon Mexican Cuisine Koh Lanta — Restaurant in Krabi Province

I've been craving Mexican for months and tonight my taco dreams came true! I didn't pay much attention to the rest of the menu but did notice there was Thai, burgers and Mexican. I devoured all 3 beef tacos and loved the accompaniments including homemade salsa, guacamole and a white sauce that might have had a smidge of horse radish. These tacos reminded me of the ones Momma would simmer the sauce for All day in the iron skillet. The meat is seasoned and browned to perfection. The shells were fresh and crunchy and the perfect amount of sour cream adorned the top. The hubs had beef nachos and the chips were Doritos 😁. It doesn't get much tastier. I ordered a blueberry shake which was so refreshing. It was a flavoring and more like an icee but equally as tasty. The hubs chose the watermelon shake and it was fresh watermelon in blended ice. I can highly, highly recommend Pangpon for tacos and nachos. I'm gonna bet that every other item is equally tasty as well. We enjoyed chatting with the owner and server who were super friendly. Food was mediocre. The first waitress who came to take our order did not understand what we wanted despite pointing to the menu and the poster on the wall. Another waitress took over and managed to take our order. Food took ages to come out. We ordered nachos plate. These were not fresh, they were straight pit of a packet. Unfortunately not enough guacamole, salsa and sour cream to accompanh them. We ordered potatoe balls which were plain, they could of added a little more salt, pepper perhaps even some garlic. The service was incredibly poor, so much so we didn't bother ordering mains. When we went to pay the owner /chef took our bill, she was the total opposite of her staff, very friendly and cheerful!

We loved this place, their take on Mexican food is so delicious that we came back so many times, they also make a darn good margarita! Anyone coming to Thailand and then criticizing this place because it’s not authentic Mexican should maybe go to Mexico instead, unfortunately because of that they are missing the chance to try something new. She makes amazing delicious mole (possibly the best I have ever had), fresh salsa and guacamole which is so hard to find! We also loved the fact that most items are not focused on rice and instead use lots of fresh veggies! If you want to try something new and outside the box you should definitely check out this place!
