It was a howling success for our 2 nights DK Anniversary Cup 2019!
Starting off with 55 determined pool players, the tournament went well both for the audience and the players. What made the tournament even more exciting was the fact that we had more professional players this time than our previous ones; By that we were not disappointed to see never-before-seen great shots from them.
First night round of the tournament ended with 28 players qualifying for the main competition and 27 players will be battling for the Plate competition. Everyone had their own bets and favourites - and the pressure is on! Players who made it through the main competition was a mixture of handicaps 1 to super pro. Everyone fought the match with their utmost skills and talent.
Players who ended the tournament in equal 7th place are Pisit and Dennis, who both have crossed a a bumpy road to get the place. Rey landed on equal 5th place after losing to Craig. Another player who took home the equal 5th place was Pontus after a pro-against-pro match with Jonas. Semi-final match was between strong consistent players, Kari and Sam. Both playsed a hard-fought match. With his fashionable great shots, Kari advanced to the finals making Sam relegated to the loser side and had to play against Jonas for another semi-final match. Jonas on the other hand continues his dramatic redemption and he’s back on track determined to reach the finals and won the title. Jonas’ impressive shots put him to semiFinals after a savage 8-0 win against Craig, making the latter’s end of the tournament landing on 4th place. Way to go for the young pro, Jonas, now he has to play against Sam. Will Jonas continue his pool prowess and reach the finals or Will it be a rematch for Sam and Kari in the finals? It’s quite a long way for both contenders but no one’s backing down. Jonas managed to win against Sam, and consistently proving his purpose in the tournament and that is to win!
Main competition’s final match was a battle of great tenacity. The battle between 2 rooted players from the start. Jonas, who came from the loser side and had greatly redeemed himself with an overwhelming winning streak after an upsetting loss during the first early rounds will clash in the finals against Kari who played savvily with the best of his ability reaching the finals with a twice to beat advantage. The tension for both spectators and the contenders heated up the early dawn. Jonas won the first round. During the second round both players where not giving chances with all the shots and defensive tactics but in every game only one player shall be named - CONGRATULATIONS to Jonas, professional player from the Philippines for a savage championship win!
The plate competition was also full of thrill and action. They might be unlucky to qualify for the main comp. but that did not hinder them to keep going. Composed of 27 players, only 6 places will be granted with money prizes. Taking equal 5th place were Peri and Jayson. After putting a good match, Tong Bkk ended the cup in 4th place. The 3rd place landed on the hands of Jari. The final match in the plate competition was a rematch between Nam and Bharat, with the latter having a twice to beat advantage. After fair deliberation, conditions have been applied to each races, both sides have agreed to play only one set. Instead of race 8-4 (2 sets) with the condition applied, it became one set adding another race to Nam and taking away 1 race from Bharat, drawing it to final match in an 8-3 race. It was a tough match between Bharat and Nam during the early rounds of Plate competition and it gotten even tougher with the agreement they had. Will history repeats itself or the lady power shall prevail? The match was not only by skills and talent, but with consistency and determination. Both finalists were great in every shots they made. To conclude, Nam ended with a humble 2nd place and it was Bharat with the great advantage who got the sweet success and triumphantly winning the Plate Competition.
Happy Anniversary DK! As what we always say in...
Read moreI went to my first small competition here, 8 ball with a handicap, all the staff are very helpful and professional and I would definitely recommend it, especially if you are new and don't know the rules which are new to me as I play in England on a smaller table.with local rules. It's good experience and something different to do when you are on holiday in Pattaya. My advice to one of the people I played against would be to accept your loss gracefully. Just watching some of the players skill is amazing, especially how well they control the white ball, I got a good thrashing in the semi final but I enjoyed the privilege of playing against and watching a good player, I can appreciate it takes years of practice and I hope you had a amazing birthday. Thank you to Double kiss pool and...
Read moremood can change from time to time, it depends who is giving you service. the lady in the mask has kind of an attitude which is not very western service like. more a tone of a bar lady. another staff was constantly gossiping with us about how less she gets because of other colleagues getting better customers? love their tables and environment, but they should hardly reconsider who they’re working with. maybe a big change of staff is needed. there’s a huge mass of pretty girls enthusiasts of billiard. I am sure they’ll find better girls working there. that’s why...
