Being a Movie Towne fan and this being my second time patronizing the VIP Section, I must say it's extremely disappointing and not worth the extra money. The booth outside had no one greeting guests before entering the VIP seating area, the line was very long, when we finally got to the counter the attendant indicated she couldn't find our online order even though the deduction was already taken from the credit card. She made three attempts on the fourth she saw it, everything was then verified, we paid for the food online and indicated that because we paid for the food online, it would have to come from the normal concession, not the VIP concession. We were able to get our seats and told our food would come to us directly ok.....no problem, with seating there were stains on the carpet and stale popcorn on the ground (not pleased) the movie started probably twenty-five to thirty minutes into it we got our food with no condiments. After trying to get someone we told her we got no condiments she said okay she would get us some. One hour and twenty-five minutes later another attendant came and asked us if we got the condiments or still wanted them by this time we already ate the dry food. We indicated no thanks.
If people are paying more for a particular advertised experience that is what should be offered, Movie Towne your VIP is a disappointment and...
Read moreThe website and ticket sale section both stated that The Ferrari movie was showing. The attendant at the ticket booth said that the theatre stopped showing it the week before and that maybe it was showing at the south branch. Looked at another movie because we were already there, however the ticket collection before you enter the screen, the attendant said that she let people in to see Ferrari that day. Clearly they don't know what they're doing 🤣
Now a few months later, there's a lack of management and communication at the location. I'm getting my ticket to see Twisters and in the process I'm informed that the Air-conditioning isn't working but there's a blower and not many people attending. I opt to continue and get my concessions( Beyond Slow). I choose a seat and settle down. An usher/attendant then signals someone to come out, and shortly thereafter we're all coming out of the theatre. We walk around a bit aimlessly and then a few patrons ask various staff questions about watching another movie at the same or similar time. I asked if we could just watch the movie even without air-conditioning to which they said yes. So most of us ended up walking back into the theatre and watched the movie. What absolutely chaos. The movie was...
Read moreIf you come to Trinidad and Tobago yet never heard of MovieTowne, change your tour guide immediately. MovieTowne is our primary hub of entertainment when it comes to movies and general wasting time. After MovieTowne, other cinemas came, but MovieTowne has set the bar with quality (first).
This may be debatable for some, but MovieTowne's prices are ridiculous:
$50 for a 2D movie ticket (Adult) $65 for a 3D movie ticket (Adult) $35 for a 2D movie ticket (Adult ONLY on Tuesdays)
Late movies run until 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights only.
They provide discounts to TTARP members (60+ citizens) They also provide a "punch" card which gives you a free movie after 10 movie purchases.
Food and drink are expensive as hell, eat before you go but if you insist on eating there, prepare to pay x2+ the usual price of things you pay for outside.
$44 for the "popular" chicken special (3 chicken strips, fries and a drink) it went up from $28 when they realized it was a hot sell. $20-65 for food generally Popcorn goes anywhere between $20 - $35 depending on usual, caramel, small, medium or large.
$8 for a bottle of water $8-25 for drinks generally
You get my drift. They...
