Urgup Balloons — Local services in Avanos

The baloon experience is a must in Capadoccia, its so incredible and beautiful. However, I recommend searching for other companies BEFORE this one.

We booked it 6 months before and it was very expensive. When we arrived to Capadoccia we found out there were other agencies WAY CHEAPER (with the same certifications and experience). Something very important to have in mind is that this company offers a “better experience” because the baloon’s basket has glass floor but the reality is that the glass was stained with dirt that you cant see anything through it, so it doesnt make a difference.

Kamil, the guide, was very nice and did an excellent job with the baloon. It was a bit scary cause we flew to 1400 m above surface, so I think it would be nice if he communicates that to the people giving a sense of calm for those who suffer from high altitude sickness.

An experience words can't describe. Our trip was cancelled the first day we arrived in Cappadocia (yes, that does happen due to bad weather and you will be refunded)

However, they rescheduled our trip for two days later, without any issues. Pick-up from your hotel with a shuttle, taking you to their office first. There you get some coffee or tea with some cake (as pick-up is round about 05:15 depending on when sunrise occurs)

From there the adventure begins and I don't want to spoil anything. Our captain (Murat Özdogan) was friendly and humourous with more than 2000 hours of flight done. When you land, you get champagne (sparkling wine) and a medal to commemorate this once in a lifetime experience.

A MUST when visiting...

I took the Hot Air Balloon ride from Urgup balloons and I must say they were very Good.

The customer Service was excellent and quick to respond to queries.

My ride was initially cancelled due to bad weather, this ofcourse is not in the hands of balloon company and decided by the Turkish authorities, but what I would like to appreciate is the readiness of Urgup balloons to accommodate and reschedule the ride as per customer request.

The hotel pickup, balloon ride especially the landing part by the pilot was top notch.

If anyone is visiting capadocia and plan to take a balloon ride, I would definitely recommend...
