During my visit to Cappadocia, several locals recommended SEYYAH HAN RESTAURANT & CAFE as a must-visit spot for authentic Turkish cuisine. And I now understand why: this restaurant is a reliable choice, offering both high-quality dishes and a charming atmosphere.
The setting is stunning: a terrace with breathtaking views of the mountains, a cozy fireplace, and an ambiance that truly reflects the authenticity of the region. From the moment you step in, you can feel that this place is special—simple, yet full of charm.
For my meal, I chose a lamb dish served with fries and rice, and it was absolutely delightful. The flavors were authentic, the portions generous, and every bite showcased a dedication to traditional cooking. It’s not overly complicated cuisine, but exactly what you’d hope for in a local restaurant: dishes prepared with care and respect for the ingredients.
Another highlight is the price. For such high quality, I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable it was, much lower than what I’ve seen elsewhere. The value for money here is excellent, especially in a region that attracts so many visitors.
When locals recommend a place, it’s usually a good sign—and in this case, they were absolutely right. If you’re visiting Cappadocia, make sure to stop by SEYYAH HAN RESTAURANT & CAFE: a truly authentic spot where the food, atmosphere, and setting come...
Read moreStopped by for a late lunch after exploring the ruins at Cavusin. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service - this was quite refreshing since the restaurants that we visited in Goreme (the main village in the region) were tourist traps!
We tried the lamb shank and veal ribs - both were excellent. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender so we didn’t even need to use a knife. The flavors were mild and delicate - not overly greasy.
Service was also top notch. We felt welcomed and comfortable, even though the restaurant was quite busy.
The only area of improvement I could suggest would be better air conditioning; it was around 40C on the day so the restaurant got quite warm. The heat also attracted quite a lot of houseflies which was not ideal!
Despite this, I enjoyed my meal and would recommend it to anyone looking for good...
Read moreWe had a fabulous lunch here. Lovely, friendly and welcoming staff, great ambience in the restaurant and nice and light, with big windows. All the staff were very busy as it was crowded, but we had booked. We started with the mezzes and they were so good, with their homemade bread. Loved the hummus and the crumbly cheese. Next, we had the tomato soup and a fresh salad. Then the slow cooked lamb neck, which was so good. Tender and tasty and with rice and vegetables. For dessert, we shard the semolina and pumpkin desserts, both with goats ice cream and both very, very good. I cannot fault anything here and would definitely return if we came back to Cappadocia. The gentleman who served us made our time there, very special,...
