My first visit since the opening of the range, having been laid up ill for a while this was my first trip out in 4 days, I arrived with my friend just before 1pm on the Sunday, as she works in one of the units, I decided to have a browse around the range, big shop, good variety, but prices not much different than elsewhere, on my travels around l wondered what staff were doing running around with basket trolleys putting stuff back on shelves, I put a couple of food items in my basket and proceeded to tills, the length of the queue and the system were one person at a time was allowed by what seemed to be a security guard let through to the few tills open completely put me off, the staff issue with baskets solved, I returned my few items back to shelves and tried to exit via shopping centre entrance, I found I couldn't do this, even with my walking stick visible I was told I couldn't go that way, an elderly couple behind me, with poor mobility, were told the same, I went to bottom of store but wasn't allowed out there either, as I had went down wrong lane and hadn't passed a security scanner, another trek up and down only to be exited into pouring rain and having to walk full length of centre as I needed to visit a couple of shops for a birthday gift for grandson. Straight home after this in taxi and ill all over again, I suffer from chronic asthma and other illnesses including low immunity. Needless to say I shall not be revisiting the range anytime in near future, a large poster or sign saying no exit back into inside centre is required at doors, even if this warns to visit all other units required to...
Read moreAbysmal. A few mobile phone shops, access to The Range from the centre, some £ type shops like Poundland, New Look, The Works, Bon Marche, Boots and Semi-Chem and a clatter of empty shops. Dunnes has gone and is replaced by a Sports Direct and something else. I didn’t even walk up that way - no point. Hardly a sinner in the whole centre. It used to be open later in the evenings but now closes at 6pm. Plus some of the stores had their shutters well down at about 5.45-5.50 or even earlier! That was my first visit since before covid and it will be the last as there’s nothing in it worth talking about. Car parking is ok because there’s no-one in it. It has a food court upstairs but not sure what shape it was in. There’s a seating area in the middle of the mall but it’s tired looking and the chairs etc are all chipped. No-one was near it. Needs...
Read moreI was in the range with my elderly mother of 83 who has mobility problems. I could not see a trolley at all for my mother to balance on while walking around I spoke with a guy who I disturbed on his phone he was quite rude saying if there is none there's none and put his head back in his phone. I had to leave my mother unstable while I scoured the car parks fir a trolley and found one near the in tower car park. Had to run back to find my mother was very unhappy as the same guy sat on his phone not even offering her some sort of seat. Absolutely disgusting. Then to walk round a very untidy store cages trollies everywhere I don't think I will be back in the near future. The only pleasant part of connswater was the lovely girl at the main entrance of the shopping centre serving takeaway food she was so kind and...
