Thank God for Bullhouse East. I love seeing this style of establishment flourish in this area. The neighbouring bars seem as though they are for regulars only, so it’s a treat to be able to go around on a Sunday to take the edge off after a few nights out.
The staff are marvellous (too many to mention) and are experts on the beers they offer, always willing to allow patrons to try them before they buy them. It should be the same for all good things in life. The pizza is to die for, with the base actually filling the plate size and with plenty of options on the menu.
The atmosphere is stunning with bulbs hanging, dogs on leads and people of all ages conversing. You can bring a book if you wish! It’s homely and I want to see East Belfast continue to move in the direction that Bullhouse has firmly placed it in.
I should also mention events. I can’t say I’ve been at both an LGBT poetry day and played Mario Kart on a projector in any other pub. There’s board games (Jenga will make your night complete) and cheese tasting. They get festive at Halloween and Christmas. I’ve also been cured thanks to Connor who provided me with the shandy of my dreams (enclosed).

Read moreBullhouse East has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the area. They’ve recently opened Nook inside as a daytime coffee shop, and it’s a fantastic addition. The coffee is rich and well-made, and the cookies are absolutely delicious – the perfect pairing for a relaxed morning or afternoon catch-up.
By night, Bullhouse East transforms into a buzzing venue with some of the best pizza around. The quality is consistently excellent, with fresh ingredients and great flavor. The vibe in the evening is lively and social, which makes it a great place to meet friends or enjoy a casual night out.
The service is friendly and efficient whether you’re there for a quiet morning coffee or a busy evening pizza session. The team clearly cares about the experience and it shows.
One thing to keep in mind: it does get really busy during peak times, especially in the evenings. But that’s just a sign of how popular the place has become – and for good reason.
Whether you’re looking for a chilled daytime café or a vibrant evening hangout, Bullhouse East (and Nook) has you covered....
Read moreI love Bullhouse, and we have been going regularly since it opened. What has disheartened me is the extreme uplift in prices. 2 pizzas and a garlic bread were the guts of £50, but aside from that, the price of a pint...a year ago, a pint of Rolling Papers cost £5.90. This has had at least two increases as far as I can track since this, and is now £7.10 a pint, which is outrageous by any measure. When you reach a point where Temple Bar is cheaper for a pint than a taproom in east Belfast, it's going to price a lot of folk out, and it's hard to see how the business can justify these prices. Put simply, it's gentrification gone wild. The bar is permanently packed, so there certainly has been no dip in business as far as I can see, on any day I pass, to justify the insane pricing. Unfortunately the prices have reached a point where we are going to choose other locations instead, which is so...
