If I could describe this place in 2 words it'd be "fiercely incompetent".
Rarely does a place so consistently disappoint.
I've probably been here 4 times in 4 years and each time it's been disappointmentville.
Let's focus on tonight's KFC.
I thought, "it's Sunday, I can't be ar*ed to do anything lets go to KFC". So off I went to KFC in Ballyhackamore which is my regular KFC. Unfortunately, their card machine had broken so after waiting in the queue for 15 minutes and 26 seconds I drove off and thought I'd give Connswater another go.
So I arrived about 6 minuets and 37 seconds later at the connswater drive thru with only 3 cars ahead of me.
15 minutes and 23 seconds (and 1 car) later, I got to the order box thingy. After another 5 minute and eleventy two second wait a voice asked what I wanted. I placed my order then the wait continued.
While waiting in the queue I thought, whilst I'm here I might as well get my shopping done. So I hopped over the bridge to Lidl and did my weekly shop. By the time I got back to the car, it was only another 23 minute and 18 second wait before I got to the window.
Now, I don't think that it's the chicken artist's (or whatever KFC calls them) fault. It's definitely a management problem. They have a serious case of "I don't give a fu*k".
Firstly, they tried to charge me for my 2 hot wings which were free because of the app, they said that they can't just make them free once I've ordered them. I said "okay, we'll just cancel the hot wings altogether" so she said "okay". So I went through the order again but this time said "could I use this barcode on my app to get free hot wings" and she said "yes". So it was sorted after a few more minutes of messing about.
Due to the length of time waiting, I assumed that they'd get the order correct but no...
I saw the chicken artist speak to her manager and hold up a large tub of beans, I think she was saying, "we only have large tubs of beans left, should I give him one of them instead?"... Now before you judge me for ordering beans instead of gravy, they were for my wife who's a bit strange. Anyway, I assume the manager must have said, "nah, just give him a gravy instead, he won't notice till he gets home." - (at least they got one thing right)
So, I get home which is only a 5 minute and 32 second car journey away. Cold fries, 2 tubs of gravy instead of a gravy & beans (eugh).
So, moral of the story, if you are ever desperate for a KFC and Ballyhackamore's card machine has broken then just go and get some money out. Don't give these guys another chance, it's not worth the stress.

Read moreMyself and my partner arrived at KFC 6.45pm Saturday night. There was a long queue at drive-thru so we went for to sit in. There was one person in queue before us. We waited for a good while before our order was taken as there was no member of staff behind the counter. Eventually one staff member came out from the back and order was placed without receipt given for a further 5 min. There was a queue forming behind me and they were being ignored as staff were not to be seen front of house. We ended up waiting for 30 minutes for one wrap and one bonus meal. They never told anyone they run out of chicken fillet and would take a while to cook after waiting at this point 20 mins. Customer service was appalling also whilst waiting in queue a customer came in from being served at the drive-thru with his order in the box and told member of staff his order was wrong,and for his order to be made right, a member of staff from the back came round and asked him what he wanted, the customer explained what he had ordered and informed the staff member he wanted his food to be made fresh, their reply was that they would replace two items that were in the box but would not replace the "Hot wings" as that was part of original order even though they were cold by the time this was made right. This customer was clearly not happy but never made a fuss as there was a large queue behind him. We would normally use this KFC but have not been here in a while. This place has gone downhill and the staff needs proper training with their customer service. Will not be back till these...

With an ever increasing queue forming we left and went to the one on the uppernewtownards rd! Served within minutes! Yet dispite this we returned a week later and went through the drive-thru , only three cars including my own , yet it still took awhile to get our order and leave , there appeared to bo only two staff on? The following week we just went straight to the uppernewtownards road KFC , once again served much quicker!.......update went back after 2mths , went to drive-thru ordered 2 fillet meals and 2 piece meal , only to be told it would be an at least a 15mins wait on the chicken....NOTHING has changed , cancelled order and went to Uppernewtown rd KFC and dispite several cars in front of me , served and away in well under 10mins! Whoever owns KFC Connswater should read these reviews and seriously...
