Moseley Fish Bar — Local services in Birmingham

During my recent visit to this chip shop, I couldn't help but feel disappointed with the overall dining experience. The anticipation of enjoying a well-cooked fish was quickly overshadowed by the unsettling discovery of a hair in my meal. This, unfortunately, highlighted concerns about the establishment's hygiene standards.

The cleanliness of the place left much to be desired; from the appearance of the cooking area to the condition of the tables and floors, it seemed as though proper sanitation practices were not a priority. The staff's lackadaisical attitude towards maintaining a clean environment added to the negative impression.

While I understand that mistakes can happen, the way the situation was handled was equally disappointing. The staff did not appear apologetic, leaving me with a sense of frustration and discomfort throughout the meal.

In addition to the hygiene issues, the overall quality of the food failed to meet expectations. The fish, aside from the unfortunate discovery, lacked the freshness and flavor one would expect from a reputable chip shop.

Overall, my experience at this chip shop was marred by the presence of a hair in my fish, coupled with concerns about cleanliness and food quality. It's my hope that the management takes these issues seriously and implements improvements to ensure a more pleasant dining experience for...

I was in the area and with it being Friday lunch time you know only Fish and Chips would be appropriate. This is my second time going into this chippy.

I ordered a large fish with a cone of chips and a can of coke. It all came up to £10.98p

I had to wait 10 minutes as I was told it was made fresh and I didn’t mind the wait as I was eating in anyway.

The girl who served me was very polite and even though I only asked and paid for a cone size worth of chips to have with my large fish, she gave me a regular sized portion which was appreciated.

The chips were nice and crispy on the outside with soft potato centres.

The fish was really good and had nice chunky flakes to it as I got into it. I was happy and satisfied...

Staff polite. Clean & bright premises. Zero rating for food if i could select a zero. First time customer so bought something simple. One piece chicken and chips. Chicken was greasy, zero flavour, and it had been previously salted. Battered Chips looked okay from a distance but they are definitely not anywhere near Black Country style. The batter was soaking with oil, and they use the 'waxy variety' type of potatoes which are not suitable for frying. Only 'floury variety' type of potatoes should be used for frying. i ate a small portion of what i bought and immediately had a sore stomach and it's still sore 6hrs later. Will not return until they use the correct type of potatoes and properly kitchen-towel/drain/dry...
