Not much curry for either of us for the price we paid & both curries had loads of potato which seemed to fill up the little curries we had. 1. Chicken Punjabi & 1. Chicken vegetable Balti. Onion Bahjee was soft & obviously microwaved. Then we realized Bahjee was not even on the menu. I keep thinking that we were given 'pressed together' pakora instead of Bahjee.. We waited 20 minutes to ask for a pudding & was given two smelly stale rasmalai, which had obviously been in the restaurant window all day (8pm now) which we gave straight back, with foul tastes in our mouths! I asked for two naans, I was replied with 'would I prefer a garlic naan' I replied, okay that sounds lovely! When we realize the garlic naans are £2 more expensive, smaller & not fresh like the standard tandoor naan I had originally asked for (scam). We felt as though this restaurant is not botherd about its customers in any way, just our cash. The staff seem too have no dress code? The staff looked as though hey were straight off the street, wearing woolen hats, coats etc whilst serving customers, this place is too busy doing takeaway orders to serve the restaurant customers properly. Girlfriend has had bad stomach all night. I've looked forward to eating here for years, as this restaurant has been known for Brums best...
Read moreI ordered a large amount of food for Eid. Sweet Rice, Brown Rice, Katlamas, Samosas, Tandoori Chicken, Rasmalai, Gajrella, A box full of mitai. In total it cost approx £200.
Sweet rice, seemed was scraped from the bottom of the pot, full of oil, all broken up. The rice itself they use was very cheap. No one touched, it went straight to the bin.
Brown rice, was below average, that only one person took a few spoons of, others wouldn’t touch, it went straight to the bin.
Tandoori chicken was very dry, you literally had to drink a sip of water with each bite to swallow it. Again they all went in to bin.
Pakoras both vegetable and chicken. They were hard, seemed they were old, had been microwaved a number of times, then stored and then re-sold. Absolutely disgusting.
Rasmalai. A number of packets. The milk was creamy, again it had gone off, went straight in to the bin.
Mitai. It was just average. Nothing special about it. A box of white jalebi. That too was average, nothing special about it.
Moral of the story is, keep far far away from this place people, if you have money to throw away, by all means come here. If not, keep away.
I would give them minus stars 🌟 if I could but there’s no such features on Google...
Read moreFirst time visiting this place following positive feedback from others. Was told the kathalama is something to try here.
Dropped in and placed an order for mix grill, samosa chaat and 2 kathlama with the total of £22.50.
Before leaving the door I noticed the bag was light and asked if my order was complete. It turned out the 2 kathlama and naan with comes with mix grill was not packed. Total wait time was 25mins.
The mix grill was below average with the same marinade on chicken and lamb tikka and lamb chops.
Samosa chaat was bitter even though I asked him to use a loads of sauces.
In regards to kathalama I can see why people like it however I have had better.
Half way through samosa chaat noticed something strange with two wings🤮🤮🤢 .
After giving them a call and advising of my experience, they gave the option of me coming back and collecting another box of samosa chaat, I declined this based on the fact it would cost me more than the samosa chaat to get there.
Defo not going to...
