James Pringles Shopping Village — Local services in City of Edinburgh

I wont be visiting this place agaiin. Gave it a second chance, having been here some years ago and experienced the awful, depressing cafe/coffee shop. Hoped there had been some improvement but it was as bad, if not worse, than ever. Whoever manages this place should ensure that the quality of the coffee shop should be of a much higher standard if they want customers to come back. We waited half an hour for three paninis (which are merely heated up) and 3 coffees. When they finally came they were the wrong ones - but we ate them anyway out of desperation - they were supposedly 'ham and pineapple'. I counted 3 pieces of pineapple! When the coffee finally arrived I was looking forward to it. It was the worst cup of coffee I think I have ever had. There are numerous large boards advertising their coffee all over the place so I was very disappointed. Thestaff looked harrassed and disinterested so I didnt bother to complain to them. Went looking for specific item and the lady who spoke to us was a fountain of knowledge. The item I was after was not available but she went looking around other branches to see if they had it, sadly not, but I was interested in a new waistcoat to go with my kilt, but which had to be specific in colour and size. She went to great lengths to find what I was after and even checked other branches within the group to if they could supply my needs. After a short while she came up with the goods and I now can go and get my order. Good old fashioned service from someone who was very polite and helpful. Unlike the restaurant where one lady was rude to a patron and should not be serving customers on the till, because I complained had finished my main course before soup arrived poor poor service after the good...

Lovely shop with many interesting and unusual items. Clothing classic. I was impressed on selection of shoes in width sizes. I could have bought all my Christmas presents for my family in this one shop! They're dog friendly too which is a big plus for me. I only rated four stars as my dog wasn't allowed in the restaurant.
