Tesco Superstore — Local services in City of Edinburgh

I have been meeting my elderly mum who lives alone in the cafe once a week to help get my mum out the house during these strange times. The Tesco cafe is only one of the places I meet my mum during the week and we have two pots of tea, I always ask for an extra pot of hot water for my mum as she takes very weak tea, in any other place we go this is not an issue except with the cafe supervisor in our local Tesco cafe South Queensferry. Every week this request causes her concern and today she refused completely. How sad in today's world an 80 year old lady who lives alone is refused a pot of hot water from one of the largest supermarkets in the country. Very poor customer service

I’m 20 and had my valid ID to buy beer at self-checkout. My younger brother (under 18) was simply helping carry bags. The assistant insisted that both of us had to be over 18 and show ID, claiming “it’s the law.”

I politely asked for a manager, but both staff members raised their voices, called me “rude,” and refused to explain the policy properly. The manager then condescendingly said, “This isn’t your country, we have different rules,” after seeing my non-UK passport. Even worse, I’ve shopped here with my brother before and had no problem buying the same item—clearly the rule is applied inconsistently.

Always something I need 'temporarily' out of stock. Their 4 pint organic whole milk has been out of stock for over 2 months but is readily available at other tesco shops. Frequently low on common vegetables such as potatoes. A staff member told me there was a worldwide shortage of tomato puree only for me to find the local co-ops shelf full of it. They also discontinue things at will so I have to go to a proper tesco to get them. This is the only supermarket in South Queensferry and I'm disappointed 9 times out of 10.
