Really disappointed. Spent about £30 to only have about 5 mouthfuls of food. I spend a lot of time on the road working staying in premier inns so I’ve visited Brewers fayre plenty of times and normally I’ve never a bad thing to say about them as my past experiences have been excellent. However this occasion not so much. I ordered the battered haddock and chips and also the Jam rolly polly. Firstly the haddock tasted awful. The batter was soggy and soaked in god knows what and was just not eatable. As it was placed on top of the chips the chips where also soaked in whatever was on the fish which then made them not eatable. Only thing that was nice only the plate was the mushy peas. Of that plate all I ate was the mushy peas, 3/4 mouthfuls of the fish and 1/2 chips. Normally I wouldn’t have a dessert but I was still starving so I decided to order one. This was equally disappointing. I found the roly polly to have an unpleasant stale taste. If I wasn’t so annoyed about the fish and chips I’d of probably just ate the roly poly anyway but I just had 1 bite and left it there. So annoyed after spending nearly £30 on food and drink to then have to walk up the road to spend a further £10 in McDonald’s as I was still starving. I decided not to complain to the staff as I taught they where lovely and really polite and I felt sorry for them as they just had a coach full of children arrive and they looked all stressed and rushed off there feet. Massively...
Read moreOnly came here for convenience because I was staying at the attached South Queensferry Premier Inn. The first thing I noticed was that my cutlery was dirty. The food is distinctly average but edible, of the presumably largely ‘microwave from frozen’ type. I had a Cob Salad (obviously not from frozen) with steak, that was pretty uninspired, reminiscent of the boring lettuce, tomato and cucumber salads of yesteryear. Frankly, it’s ‘plastic’ identikit food for a captive market. IMHO, no one would choose to dine here if there was a viable alternative. I don’t suppose a Brewers Fayre elsewhere is any different and it certainly seemed to be almost identical layout and presentation to those at other Premier Inn locations I have experienced, such as at Greenock. Staff were polite and helpful but the dining experience was...
Read moreI am only giving the one star due to the terrible attitude of the lady who i believe was the boss who greeted us when we came in. Daughter had booked for 6 people but she said no it was only booked for 4 people. Well you would have thought we were trying to rob the place. NO NO definately only four she shrieked, head all moving and arguing with herself. We just stood there looking at her, then as if a miracle happened she managed to get us a seat and I think she wanted us to give her a round of applause and be forever grateful for the rest of our lives. Food atmosphere good. Head lady serving yesterday the 15th June, your attitude has to be so much better when greeting people. We unfortunately wont be back...
