Read moreToday, I ordered two beef biryanis from Little Kerala, and I am extremely disappointed with the experience. The food delivered appeared to be several days old—both the rice and meat were stale, and there was a noticeably unpleasant odor upon opening the containers. Upon tasting it, it was immediately evident that the food was not fresh.
When I contacted the restaurant to express my concerns, I was told that the biryani had been prepared today and that there should be no issues. However, shortly after consuming a small portion, I experienced a severe stomach ache followed by diarrhea. I reached out to the restaurant again, hoping for a responsible response, but the staff were dismissive and unprofessional. Despite acknowledging the issue indirectly, they insisted it was my mistake and maintained that the food was of good quality.
This was, without question, the worst biryani I have ever had. Not only did it lack the typical aroma and flavor of a proper biryani, but it also seemed like leftover food had been repackaged and sold. Serving spoiled food is not only unethical but also dangerous to customers’ health. If such practices continue, it will undoubtedly impact the restaurant’s reputation and longevity.
Restaurants have a duty to provide fresh, hygienic, and properly prepared meals in for the money customers pay. I hope this issue is taken seriously and appropriate actions are taken to ensure food safety and better customer service...
Read moreWe were in Coventry during the final leg of our first trip to Birmingham from London, and before our train to Euston left, we decided to grab a Kerala food takeaway. We thought it would be interesting to find a Kerala restaurant near the university campus to get a taste of what Mallu students in the UK might turn to when they’re feeling homesick. Our cab driver recommended Little Kerala, saying their dishes are so popular that even the locals enjoy them when they crave something spicy.
At the restaurant, we met Mr. Jaivin and Mr. George, the chefs and owners, who were friendly and welcoming. Little Kerala is a cozy spot tucked away on the busy street of Humber Road. We ordered Pothichoru and Beef fry to go and asked them to pack it securely, as we had a long 4-hour train journey ahead. Although the train was delayed, and we ended up reaching our apartment near Hyde Park close to dawn, the food arrived perfectly intact. The portions were generous, and despite the lengthy travel time, it tasted as fresh as if it had just come out of the kitchen.
It was a wonderful experience, and the food was delicious. I’d highly recommend Little Kerala to anyone in Birmingham craving authentic Kerala cuisine. Great job,...
