Really good to recall the days of 2tone and ska music, besides many others. Loads of information on other famous people born in Coventry who influenced the music scene. Very helpful staff there too..all enthusiastic and knowledgeable... £4 entrance fee worth paying as all the staff are volunteers, this place needs keeping on the map... Wont mention too much , but a definite go to see... My visit was complete as Roddy Radiation Byers ( lead guitarist ) The Specials was visiting ... such a nice guy.. very approachable and natural. Still lives in Coventry.. I will post photos which include himself at Ska village ( he kindly let me photograph him)... Worth a trip down memory...

A must visit. From Delia Derbyshire (new on me) to Jerry Dammers, Nizlopi, The Primitives and many more from Coventry a Mecca for music. The 2-Tone movement came out of Coventry as a fusion of reggae, Ska and Punk in the late 1970s early 1980s as you may know. There are some fantastic Bands from Coventry such as The Specials, Selecter and many more. The museum gave me music frisson on entering the place, I love both in equal measure, Music and Nostalgia so to be here was amazing and a must visit, really good to see there is also a dedication to The Eclipse, Coventry and Amnesia House where it all began.

If you are in the area pay...

Great place to visit full of top memorobilia, rare vinyl clothing, guitars etc even the front end of ghostown car in which the staff will take a photo of you

Staff all volunteers do a great job really friendly and knowledgeable.

Onsite restaraunt and cafe good food and very good prices.

2 shops onsite selling merchandise, shirts, mugs, jackets etc good prices again.

If you are into Two tone, Ska, or not its well worth the £5 entrance fee.

The establishment hold regular music events worth keeping an eye out for whats on.

Big thank you to the people who have donated, loan items to the...

A fantastic mix of original and unique Coventry area music memorabilia, and not just limited to ska. There are some excellent hands-on exhibits - the recording studio with working instruments was great, and the Delia Derbyshire section is brilliant, the best I've seen by far. The staff are really enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and really make the museum a gem to visit. The cafe, restaurant and shops in the village are the real thing and made for a brilliant day out.
