The New Lonsdale — Local services in Doncaster

Since this was relaunched it's by far the best in area. Chips are always fluffy and the fish battered to perfection. You can literally pick it up and eat it. No swimming in grease here.

The service however, a well oiled machine. Food freshly cooked and ready to go. If there's a wait you're advised and it's never been more than a couple of minutes.

The Lonsdale special is easily the best bargain out there £7.50 for a decent sized fish and healthy portion of chips; choice of fish cake or sausage; and beans, gravy, peas or curry sauce to top it off.

Never finished it in one sitting so comfortably sorts me out for lunch the following day.

Food was good and fresh, only snag is i asked for salt and vinegar on both meals and didnt get any on either so meals were a bit tasteless and sausage was half the size to any other chip shop iv been to , the deserts are delicious though , chocolate cake and cheesecake were to die for and come in a handy little container i can wash and reuse, would eat from here again I couldn't believe the prices , great value for money , I got a mini cod supper and a sausage supper with two deserts all for less...

Called a few times since re opening and always been OK. Called in today and ordered Donor Meat and Chips and a can of pop. £10.10p I only live a few minutes away so took the food home. Have to say I’m disappointed. The Donor meat was barely warm, barely cooked and very greasy. The chips were well under cooked and not very warm either. It all went in the bin. The pop was nice...
