Sea & Earth Fish & Chips — Local services in Gedling

This evening I tried the much-raved about banana blossom but when I reached home and opened the box I found only 1 piece in there... I thought there would be 2/3 pieces like the menu stated there would be. Edit the next day Being in the area he day after (and wanting to try more of the vegan menu) I asked the Cashier whether the banana blossom I received was the correct amount and she said yes due to the size. She was also the type of customer service representative I expect to be served by (smiley and warm), what I usually am served by and what I have expected to be like as a CSR (customer service representative).

(The original review starts here again:) Visiting a handful of times I've noticed most of the staff seem unhappy to be at Sea & Earth - they definitely don't like to smile or even interact briefly beyond their job description while taking orders from (polite and sociable) customers so I can't say customer service is consistently good.

There would be more atmosphere to the place if it was big enough for tables and chairs or more nautical decor inside the ordering/waiting area. Edit (the next day): There were many people building today so there was more atmosphere (the number of customers in the ordering/waiting area and the increased number of staff communicating to each other to ensure efficient and accurate order delivery). I didn't order food due to changing my mind (needing to cook for the household soon as well as being in a hurry so knowing I could wait a while).

(back to the original review here)I have yet to try the other Vegan food except the wonderful Katsu curry & chips but wouldn't be surprised if their other options are just as great in quality, flavour, originality etc.

Overall the place has good potential but currently (apart from the food) hasn't been impressive since my first visit

Edit a few weeks later: I've had the vegan mock scampi and vishcake and they're both delicious . The Christmas menu is out too since 1st December (but unfortunately not on the board so feel free to ask about it).

Customer service and atmosphere depends on which staff is on and how...

Visited this wonderful chippy at lunchtime. Been 2/3 times on way home from work before so already know how delicious the chips are. Today had the lunchtime special. It was ABSOLUTELY delicious everything!!!!! The chips are like eating seaside chips in Notts. That grit and same flavour as the coast amazing!! Fish absolutely gorgeous pure white crispy good size haddock for the price. Peas gorgeous!! Best special for the money you could get. I was amazed at the amount of chips and size of fish for the price. The curry sauce is to die for. To be honest it give it SIX stars !!!! Yes had to wait a little while but I’ve still given 5 stars because it’s a busy place understandably the quality and value for money and girls worked efficiently and friendly. But can assure you WELL worth the wait!!Atmosphere buzzing. Cannot recommend this chippy highly enough. Best place I’ve ever been to and I’ve done a few over the years!!! The quality of the food the chef is delivering plus the friendly efficient service immaculate shop - keep up the excellent work guys. Can’t wait to come again THOROUGHLY...

We've ordered from here on many occasions and it's always been amazing on this occasion the fish was awful. Supposed to be large but no more than a small for £10! Hardly any fish meat on it and what there was, was grey. Everything else was lovely especially the curry sauce and it only took less than 20mins to arrive. My husband took the fish back as there was no way I was going to eat it and was met by a very unhelpful member of staff. I know we always say the customer is always right but having worked in the fast food industry myself I know that saying is definitely not true. But I expect to receive something that is edible and not to be spoken to in the manner in which she did even going as far as to blame the delivery driver which is a very low thing to do. It wasn't that it was cold which could be attributed to the driver it was the fact it was totally not fit for eating. It was replaced reluctantly ( thank you for that) but has totally put me off ever ordering from here again. Not so much because of the food but the terrible service! And...
