Chippy Lane — Local services in Great Britain

After a long link up with the squad in Cardiff involving a series of Ls and enough questionable comments to get us collectively cancelled, we eventually noticed our stomachs were staging a protest. It was time.

We ended up at Chippy Lane for a much needed midnight feast. This was a proper bossman establishment. Bollywood music echoing off the walls, colourful signs everywhere, and a fryer that looked like it had seen things and was ready for more.

I ordered the mix donner and chips. Genuinely delicious. I could not tell you what meat was in it and I did not ask. It was halal and at 12am that is all the information I require. My stomach was also sounding like a Turkish earthquake.

We ate inside, seated at the famous wobble table with chairs that creaked every time someone inhaled. Part of the charm really. Nothing like a mildly unstable dining setup to keep you alert between bites.

The bossman behind the counter was class. Friendly without trying too hard. Handed over the food like he knew he had done a good job and did not need to say it out loud.
