Generally nice staff, always busy, but inconsistent when it comes to procedure. We’re doing a self-build and so have been in and out of there for weeks-on-end collecting materials.

For click and collect orders they require photo-id upon collection.

The problem is they can’t make their minds up whether to ask you for it or not. So you can imagine the times I’ve had to dash in to collect stuff without my ID and they’ve asked me for it and other times when I have it, they don’t.

The thing that’s finally wound me up is I’ve walked to the click and collect counter and they’ve completely ignored me. Another person walks in 2 minutes after me and they serve him. After putting my hand up and waving, they acknowledged my presence then send me back home for ID (ok that’s on me for forgetting it). I have a sparky waiting at the house (time is money) so I’ve dashed home, then come back to find the order on the counter waiting for me and the person hasn’t asked me for ID 🤬.

Very frustrating and time consuming.

I’m from the era of paper driving licenses and don’t have a photo-card version. And I don’t want to be carrying a passport around with me.

First of all best place to buy DIY products. Staff great. Only issue I have at the moment is when ordering products how much gear not available. I totally understand these are difficult times and will be hard to get hold of certain products, what I would like to see if a product not available in an area let customers know before going to checkout something like greying out page , very frustrating going to checkout and finding product...

It had to be the worst shopping experience in this store staff with cant be bothered attitude then trying to sell me a more expensive product when I was happy with the one I chose she kept telling me it says only available next day but I tested that theory out I selected 20 random products it says the same on them all I should have went to stockton store where there is no issues like this awful experience...
