Spice Kitchen, Indian Takeaway, Northampton — Local services in Great Britain

Three of us tried it last night for the first time. Good and bad things. Premises very smart👍. Some of the dishes were very oily👎, which we didn't like, including the garlic rice. They do several dishes that are suitable for vegans 👍and I was told that the aubergine was cooked better here than it was the last time from our usual place that we go to 👍. The papadoms were over cooked👎. We thought they hadn't given us any dips or salad as Indian takeaways normally put these in the top of the bag, but we found they were at the bottom between the paper and plastic bag, and we didn't notice this until after we had eaten our food👎. The chicken pieces in my curry was not as generous👎 although was nice 👍. The prices are a lot more expensive👎. For example Chicken Dansak they charge £8.50 and we normally pay £5.95, Vegetarian side dishes they charge £4.50, we normally pay. £3.50👎. They give 15% discount when our usual one only does 10%, but Spice Kitchen prices are much more expensive anyway, plus our usual place give you free Bombay potatoes if you spend over a certain amount. The guy who served me was friendly👍. Overall, disappointed and will be staying with Khybar Tandoori in Gloucester Avenue.

Update October 2024: decided to try Spice Kitchen again. We got a 20% discount so that made their prices comparable to our usual Indian Takeaway. The food was also better this time and not lots of oil in the food this time. The delivery was also quick. So I think based on our latest experience they now deserve...

Absolutely appalling service! Order placed online for delivery. A notification to say order placed with restaurant, however no time for delivery specified. Spent the next 1hr+ calling to ask when the food will be delivered. Line constantly engaged. After 1hr 15mins I had to drive to the the shop to ask when the food was coming. To be stood waiting whilst they spoke to the drivers to then be told the order has now been processed and food not made! No apology, no offer to make the order immediately. Requested my money be given back and left with no food! Will not be returning...

We had food for there yesterday for the first time and it was excellent full of flavour and service was very good 👍 the thing we liked the most apart from the excellent food was that you can see into the kitchen through a big water feature window so you can see the food being prepared etc you can see how tidy and clean it is in there they certainly take a lot of pride in there work place altogether a very good experience will deffo recommend to all our friends and family keep up the...
