What a super place!
I take my 2 year old son to various places in and around Bucks/ Berks, but this is definitely our most favourite place to visit.
Playtrain is handily located just off of the M40 and there is free parking on site. Upon entry to the playcentre, there is an amazing little toy/ gift shop with all kinds of exciting toys and other bits and pieces for children. There is a toy train that circles the ceiling, my little one is always mesmorised by this and talks about it for ages following each visit, haha. As you step inside, the immediate setting is just so eye catching and enticing! The attention to detail that has been put it is just something else entirely, from the colourful umbrellas and giant caterpillars suspended from the ceiling, to each of the different role play areas. It's a large centre, with so much to do, but it also feels really safe. I especially like how you can see the CCTV in operation covering the whole building on a screen in the cafe area. Oh, did I mention the cafe? It is really reasonably priced and has a great selection of snacks and drinks for adults and kids.
The toilets at playtrain have been well thought out, there is a play pen situated inside. This is handy in keeping the little one safe after a change while you wash your hands etc. Nappies are also available at Playtrain if needed.
Each session is 90 minutes long. This passes quickly as there is so much to do- my son has never asked to leave Playtrain early, as he sometimes does at other soft plays! As the session comes in, the staff blow bubbles from a bubble gun and everyone has a dance to Baby Shark...yes, this is as mad as it sounds, but the kids have so much fun!
The centre feels clean and safe and staff always appear cheerful and happy to help. I consider Playtrain to be reasonably priced too (we usually visit during off peak times).
Please do give Playtrain a visit soon :).

This is by far one of the best and most well-thought-out soft play and play areas I’ve ever visited! The space is huge, ensuring that kids stay engaged and entertained for the full 1.5-hour session. There are countless toys and themed play zones, making every visit an adventure.
What makes this place truly unique is the variety of immersive play areas. There are huge stables with horses to ride, a police station, a shop, a restaurant, a vet, and even a caravan! Kids can also enjoy a picnic bench area, a sensory room, and a street with scooters and bikes, complete with traffic lights to help them learn about road safety. Everything is beautifully designed with trees, fruits, and animals around, creating a magical, interactive environment.
One of the highlights is the electric scooters, which are charged per session—my child absolutely loved them! For younger children, there’s a separate baby area with baby walkers, which is perfect if you have two kids. You can easily move around with your older child while keeping your little one entertained and safe.
The café area is another fantastic feature, offering great coffee, sweets, and a variety of breakfast and lunch options for both parents and kids. It’s the perfect place to relax while the little ones play.
What truly sets this place apart is the thoughtful design and spaciousness. Unlike many overcrowded play areas, this one has limited bookings, ensuring that every child has enough room to play freely.
I highly recommend this place to any parent looking for an incredible play experience. It’s a must-visit and, without a doubt, one of the best children’s entertainment venues...
Read moreToday was my second visit to Playtrain. I was very impressed with the set up on my first visit although at the end of it was made to feel very uncomfortable by the staff. At the end of each session they play baby shark as a sign to say go home, which is fair enough. However, my friends three year old needed the toilet, which should be expected really when working with children! The two members of staff exchanged looks and made a comment about them not getting a lunch break! That’s not really my problem to be honest, maybe take that up with your boss? Not sure how a small child going to the toilet really interferes with their lunch breaks but I didn’t let it affect my experience as a whole. I decided to visit again today and made it very clear to my friend when baby shark comes on you have to go as the staff get a bit funny with you. We decided to order some food and as we were eating it a note was placed on our table. This stated that we had failed to see signs saying you can’t bring your own food into the vicinity and if we could put the food away and take it home with us. We had given our children some water from their own cups and some crisps. It just made us feel very uncomfortable, especially when looking around at other tables that had brought their own food but hadn’t been given a little note. It really is a great concept and I thought it was a little gem when I first arrived but unfortunately the passive aggressive staff let it down, maybe this is why it never seems to be busy. I won’t...
