We had such a lovely morning visiting the Barket @The Junction Antrim . Some of my favourite stalls were @Haus of Hank @Murphy & Bailey . If you have any suggestions of where I could visit next, let me know in the comments! #dogfriendly #dogfriendlyni #dogsoftiktok #dogfriendlyuk #dogfriendlyplaces #goldenretriever #dogtok #goldenretrieverlife #goldenretrieverpuppy #goldenretrieversoftiktok #goldenretrieverlove

Junction One is probably one of the closest shopping centres if you're coming from places like Cookstown, Magherafelt or Moneymore. It's handy enough if you're local, but don't expect too much - it's open-air, meaning it can get pretty cold and wet, especially during typical Northern Irish weather! A few years back, Junction One almost closed down completely. Thankfully, it bounced back a bit since then, but honestly, it's still nothing spectacular. There's a limited selection of shops, so shopping options are quite modest. On the bright side, the car park is big and convenient, making it easy enough to visit. They occasionally host small, humble events, which add a bit of charm, but overall, it's a pretty average experience.

More Like Junk One. Nothing in it, half of it is completely empty. the only chance I get to go there is Sunday because it closes at 6:00 so no one is able to go there after work. technically most of the shops close at 5:30 cause I went there at 5 once to go to the toy store to get a birthday present and it was closed already. And now they've started opening later at 10am. they got rid of holland and barrett that was in there too which I really liked. they've got a b&m there but it never gets anything new in, same furniture been sitting for 3 years, never any new wallpaper, dont have most things bigger b&m's have, had to travel to a different one to get what I wanted. Also dont understand outdoor malls in this country, its a wind tunnel in that place. The coffee shops/food places in it are very overpriced. Never see that many people here, always empty which can be nice if you want to look in some of the shops, most people just use it to park their car, there is always a large queue at Starbucks drive through which for the life of me I can't understand why anyone wants to pay for a overpriced cup of coffee with too much milk and sugar.. Between castle mall and junction one Antrim shopping is absolutely dreadful. do not come here especially if you live a bit...

I have been a biker all my life with always a nice ride , I have been all over Europe and parked my bike in bike parking spots were available, when not available I park on foot way not blocking it , I have parked at mounte Carlo casino, Effie tower the hart of Geneva at the guesser , Dam square at the palace , this is just a few ,at home I go to Belfast all the time and park out side all the main places , this morning I was at victory square and parked out side no probs on way home I called into juction one and parked up on foot way as no bike parking possible here , a member of there staff came to me and told me that I would have to park else where ,I explained that there was no bike parking and that I have been here loads of times and this is were I always park , and I would only be 5 moon max , he told me that it was not his problem and to move on It would be nice if these places have a place for bikes to park safely as our bikes are very easily to knock over , I have parked away in car parks before to come back to see parents having there kids on my bike for a photo ( never ever had a problem before today anywhere else...

Mediocre out of town shopping, I would say at least 50% of the smaller units are empty and approximately 40% of the actual area is wasteland, plus the carwash is closed down, the petrol station is closed down, the garden centre/nursery is closed down.

Asda, b&m, poundland, homebase, lidl, cinema, nike, Adidas a few cooking equipment shops, a bookshop, some coffee shops, a perfumery, an outdoorsy shop, some handbag/luggage shops and that's about it off the top of my head.

Take a look at lakeside shopping centre and lakeside retail park in Essex for inspiration, that is what northern Ireland needs.

*edit/update follows.

Worse than it was , after a phenomenal spend on redesigning the parking and road layout , they've added a McDonald's & Starbucks drive through , with the most recent addition of a Tim Hortons.

seems to be they are just turning it into a giant eat outery for all the new houses they've built on some of the waste land.

The actual shopping area looks more run down if...
