Of all the many northern canals I have walked, this was in parts, outrageously difficult. Mainly going from the Calder Hebble Navigation to the start of the Huddersfield Broad Canal, quite a lot had no tow path and in 3 spots in close proximity the to path had fallen into the waterway. However, once walking on the canal after the transition and Junction it got much better. The canal has decent views of the Huddersfield railway line and has a few disused railway viaducts.
