Very busy when I visited. Not an issue in itself, but the cluttered layout near the toilets is awkward to navigate. A high traffic area like that should be clear, especially considering that's where the fire exit door is located.
Music was very loud. The combination of the music and amount of people in there made it almost impossible to hear each other, so we bowled without talking for almost and hour. The lanes are well due an overhaul, there are visible rises and falls in the lane and the first few feet seemed almost un-oiled. That could be due to the amount of people I saw walking on to the lanes, and even placing the ball ramps completely on the lanes. A few of the balls were noticably out of round and could be seen bobbing up and down. The price would be good if the lanes and balls had been replaced or maintained, but it felt expensive for poor quality equipment.
The door to the only toilet didn't lock.
3 lads, maybe 18-20 years old that came in to get a hit of Columbia's largest export - yes, the illegal powder one! They weren't shy about it either, even when me and my son were washing our hands. I understand the staff can't really stop them, and admittedly I didn't report it to the staff, because there was a queue and I didn't have time to wait. Still not something that should be taking place.
I won't be returning to this place. I'll be choosing a newer venue, with well maintained facilities, for my next...
Read moreDecent bowling alley, food and drink was okay but kinda pricey considering the portion size. Only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because all the staff except for one lady were REALLY arsey and had serious attitude. I'm not one to call attitude of staff out as I'm someone that works in retail and I understand it's a hard job, but I've been a few times and every single time without fail the staff will get extremely argumentative or flat out rude/snide when asked the most basic questions such as "could you point me to the toilets?" Or "is there a menu I can look at?" I get customer facing jobs are stressful but there's no excuse for staff to be so excessively stand-offish to everyone without reason - they were even rude to the young kids at the alley when they very politely asked for a smaller ball on their lane.
It's a great alley for a friends or family gathering but honestly the staff are the downfall, and it...
Read moreI used to visit UK Superbowl here in Huddersfield all the time back in 2003 and 2004. Back then they had a Dance Dance Revolution 3rd Mix Korean (Not sure if it was v1 or v2), but a super rare machine by even 2003's standards! It was 50p for 3 songs and it was slapped right near the entrance. It was a great way to burn away a Saturday daytime lol. I hadn't visited since 2004, but looking online, it seems they upgraded it to Dance Dance Revolution 5th mix, again, another rare gem and I had only seen one in Scarborough before during this period.... So my wife and I visited again in 2018, unfortunately the dance machine has been removed completely and the space is filled with crane games and a couple of fruit machines. Granted, there are 2 driving video games and a basketball game and they didn't TOTALLY sell out on redemption-based 'games', but it's so sad that the Dance Dance Revolution is...
