The rich history speaks through these walls in a way which is almost touching - while the furniture of the modern variety may detract at times, I appreciate the organic nature as to how this church is kept, and the brief coverings of it's history are produced with love. The structures in this church are so unique, and it seems more down-to-earth than other churches people may be used to - the love is there and the church is in an area which produces beautiful light wherever the sun is, with dramatic shadows to highlight the structural integrities. It isn't accessible solely by car, so I'd recommend just exploring Leominster for the day and having this as one of the stops, as well as other beautiful places in Leominster i.e. Grange Court nearby. Earnest and Comforting.

One of the Thousand - At first i heard the glorious singing from the congregation during an Easter service. Then returned for a visit. Huge inside like a cathedral in places. A well stocked bookshop and detailed history make this a visit for all sorts of reasons. The best part for me was seeing how this priory is alive inside. Met a member of the congregation who was flush with the love for her faith. I’m not religious but it was great to see that joy. Also an original ducking stool, very rare in Britain and a 10ft lion. What’s not to love.

Lovely building with a fascinating history. Learn about why the priory has two naves. Sadly, the church is cluttered with a huge range of old furniture like an antique shop, which detracts from the overall impression.

Somewhat set back from the town, this is a really great and interesting building. Rather than add replacement gothic arches to the Romanesque building, the monks simply built a new nave alongside so that we get to see both styles at the same time. The result is an enormous airy space which is filled with artefacts such as the town’s ducking stool and a number of lovely modern tapestries depicting the church’s history. On top of this there is plenty of carving of the Herefordshire school of sculpture. Not...
